Information and support for Grandparents raising grandchildren

Time for Grandparents provides telephone support, advice, assistance and programs for Grandparents raising grandchildren in Queensland.

We understand that informal Grandparent carers may be wanting to gain more information and grow social networks to help with the important job of child-rearing.

We can assist if you’re struggling, connect you with other Grandparents in your situation, organise fun camps for you and the grandkids, and provide some much-needed respite.

Calling on our amazing Grandparent carer community!

Would you like to inform carer-related policy, programs, initiatives and services? Advise on strategies to recognise the critical role of carers? Collaborate with other key advisory bodies to ensure the voice of carers is heard?

The Queensland Government is seeking individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds and locations, including Grandparent carers, from around the state to join the Queensland Carers Advisory Council for a two-year term, starting 1 February 2026.

Carers make an extraordinary contribution to the lives of the people they care for – and to our communities as a whole. The Council provides advice on work to promote the interests of carers and make recommendation to support carer recognition.

Nominations close at 5pm Friday, 15 August 2025.
