Choosing a school puts you in charge of your grandchild's future, while starting school offers practical information about holiday dates, uniforms and more.

Speld Qld Inc

SPELD Services include:
Advisory Service
Two experienced Education Advisors are available to speak with parents who believe their child may have a Specific Learning Disability (SLD/D). Adults, professionals and teachers who are concerned about learning disabilities are also welcome to call. There is no cost for this service.
Assessments
Psychological assessments by qualifed psychologists specialising in SLD/D's are available. An assessment should identify the extent of the problem, provide a comprehensive analysis of learning strengths and difficulties and as well recommendations for educational advice including strategies that could be used. All assessments are accompanied by a full written report.
Workshops and Courses
A range of seminars are presented by specialists in the field of Specific Learning Disabilities/Difficulties for parents, teachers and other professionals. There is also the opportunity for parents to share with other parents and Education Advisors after these meetings.
Tutor Services
All tutors at Speld Qld. are experienced and qualified teachers. It is mandatory that all tutors have Board of Teacher registration and possess a Blue Card. Jan Hughes is our Tutor Co-ordinator. Tutors can be arranged for all ages.
Assistive Technology
Library
There is a growing collection of books available for members to borrow from our library. Videos and software are available for viewing purposes only
