Grandchild with ADHD Roslyn Mar 01, 2008
I would like to have the opportunity to "talk" with other grandparents raising a grandchild with ADHD My grandchild recently turned 13 and is attending high school. So I would be more interested in contact with grandparents of older grandchildren (even though I have raised him since birth). Perhaps just sharing hints and talking about those special issues which sometimes seem enormously hard to deal with at the time. Roslyn

Hi, I am raising a grandchild with Aspergers syndrome. I understand where you are both coming from. My grand daughter just turned 14 yesterday and is in grade 8. She has many problems that she doesn''t really understand re: peers, i find this is my main problem at the moment with her attending high school. There are so many new kids that don''t know my granddaughter and her problems. It seems i am always at the high school. Makes me feel like i am trying to tell the high school how to teach my granddaughter. I don''t know if they really understand. I would be interested in keeping in contact with people who have the same problem. These poor children are what i call special in so many aspects. But just hard to understand by others as they say normal kids the same age. Regards Kay

Wow this is so much the same as my circumstances, I cant believe it. I also have raised a grandchild from birth with ADHD who is now in high school. I would be more than happy to have contact. There are so many issues that others dont understand, stess for ourselves, wanting to do the right thing with these children, trying not to get angry, sad that they have social problems...and so much more. I would be more than happy to have contact. Regards Rondel
