The 'Time for Grandparents Program' links grandchildren with approved sporting and recreational activities in their local community. This gives grandchildren an opportunity to participate in regular, fun and interesting activities at minimal or no cost to the grandparents. While the grandchildren are out enjoying themselves it allows for the grandparents to have some well earned time out.
Activity providers must meet the child protection risk management strategy for employers and business providing regulated child-related services as outlined in the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Regulation 2001.
We are continually looking for new activity providers throughout Queensland. If there is an activity in your area which is not listed please let us know and we will contact the activity provider to determine their eligibility for the program.
The program covers the cost of weekly fees, membership fees and in some cases we may be able to assist with uniform costs. Click on the links on the side of this page to read the information about a particular activity.
